Laser cut components for prefabricated dwellings

Essex Laser’s clients appeared on the Channel 4 programme Grand Designs. The client, Facit Homes, designs and builds bespoke dwellings, taking care to ensure they use responsibly sourced materials. Facit use digital production techniques and building information modelling to enable them to build each house from a series of precision cut timber components and each house is entirely bespoke according to the requirements of the client.

The timber chassis of a house, which includes ground floor, roof, internal and external walls can be manufactured and assembled in just eight weeks.

Essex Laser’s laser cutting skills helped provide components for the project, in particular laser cut metal brackets for the construction of these prefabricated homes. They work closely with clients in the construction industry to provide laser cut items of the highest quality.

The programme was shown again on More 4 on February 11th at 9pm.
